Questions about this topic
Do I reverse the symbol whenever I see a negative number?+
No. Reverse when multiplying or dividing both complete sides by a negative number, not simply when adding or subtracting a negative quantity
Can checking a few inputs prove the entire solution set?+
Those checks can expose a wrong boundary or direction. Equivalent algebraic transformations establish all permitted inputs; a few successful examples alone do not
Why is an intersection not the whole graphical answer?+
It marks where the expressions are equal. An inequality asks which horizontal inputs make one output smaller or greater, including equality only when specified
Can I use a calculator?+
No. This topic is practised without a calculator
Which year level and chapter is this?+
Year 8 Mathematics, chapter 2: Linear expressions, relations and equations
