Estimate probabilities from grouped continuous frequency data
The class frequencies below describe surface temperatures recorded during repeated measurements
Let X denote the quantity in the table, measured in degrees Celsius
| Class interval (degrees Celsius) | Frequency |
|---|---|
| \(-3\le x < 3\) | 16 |
| \(3\le x < 9\) | 14 |
| \(9\le x < 15\) | 12 |
| \(15\le x < 21\) | 10 |
| \(21\le x < 27\) | 8 |
Use the grouped table as an approximate probability model. The table assigns frequencies to whole class intervals. At a class boundary, changing strict to non-strict endpoint notation does not change the class count
The event to use is \(9 \le X \le 15\)
