Questions about this topic
Does a larger circle have a larger value of pi?+
No. Circumference and diameter grow in the same proportion, so their ratio stays pi
Why can measured ratios differ slightly?+
String placement, stretching, ruler precision and rounding affect the measured lengths, even though the exact circle ratio is constant
Why do I enter only a coefficient for an exact circumference?+
The answer template already includes pi and the length unit. Your number completes the exact expression without approximating pi
Can I use 3.14 whenever a decimal answer is requested?+
Use the calculator pi value unless the question explicitly supplies 3.14 as the required approximation. Early rounding can change the final rounded answer
Can I use a calculator?+
A calculator is allowed unless a question is marked no calculator
Which year level and chapter is this?+
Year 7 Mathematics, chapter 4: Geometry and measurement
